New camera, new venture

For a part-time doctor, who spends the rest of his working week as Parish Priest in the relatively civilised English city of York, spending 6 weeks in Haiti as a part of a medical relief team is a daunting prospect. And getting a new camera is part of the process - so that some of the experiences that will inevitably assault me can be shared with anyone who stumbles across this blog.
Although never merely six weeks in the Caribbean, when this was all being planned it was much more exciting than now when the reality is much closer...
However now stocked up with chloroquine tablets, and having been vaccinated against things that until now only ever existed in isolation wards or exotic text-books, and the proud possessor of a mosquito net perhaps I am getting ready to go...
